Halfway Through 2026: A Midyear Vision Check-In for Women in Menopause

Well, here we are. July 2nd. The exact midpoint of the year.

Can you believe it? Six months have passed since January's fresh starts, good intentions, and that slightly giddy feeling of a brand-new year stretching out ahead. And right now, feels like the perfect moment to pause and ask yourself a genuinely important question, how's your vision going?

Not a trick question. Not a guilt trip. Just a real, honest check-in.

Because here's the thing. If you're sitting there thinking "oh no, I completely lost the plot somewhere around mid-February," you're in good company. And if you're quietly ticking along, feeling stronger and more energised than you did six months ago, I want you to take a moment to actually acknowledge that. Both of these women exist. Both are completely valid. And both deserve to hear that it's not too late to revisit, refresh, and reconnect with what you set out to create for yourself this year.

A quick reminder of why we talked about vision in the first place

Back in January, I wrote about why a vision beats a New Year's resolution for lasting change, especially for women in midlife and menopause. The short version? Resolutions tend to be short-term, rigid, and heavily reliant on willpower. They set us up to feel like we've "failed" the moment life throws a curveball. And life always throws a curveball.

A vision is different. It's not a set of rules. It's not a finish line. It's a direction - a sense of who you're becoming and how you want to feel in your body, not just this year, but for the years ahead. Strong. Energised. Capable. Independent. In a body you trust.

For women navigating perimenopause or menopause, this kind of long-term thinking matters more than ever. Hormones shift, energy changes, and the old short-term approaches simply don't hold up. A vision gives you something steady to come back to, no matter what's happening hormonally.

The beauty of a vision is that it doesn't expire in February.

So where are you at right now?

Maybe you started the year with real momentum. You were sleeping better, eating more intentionally, moving your body in ways that felt good. And then, a stressful few weeks at work, a bout of illness, the school holidays, or just life pulled you off track and you never quite found your way back.

That's not failure. That's being human.

Or maybe you did write down a vision back in January, full of intention and then forgot about it completely. It's tucked somewhere in a notebook, or pushed so far down your phone notes it hasn't seen daylight since January.

That's okay too.

And maybe you're one of those women who's been quietly, consistently showing up for herself. Not perfectly. But consistently. You've had bad weeks. You've made choices you wouldn't repeat. But you've kept coming back to the question, does this move me closer to how I want to feel? And more often than not, it does.

If that's you, please recognise that. Seriously. Consistency over perfection is not just a nice phrase. It's actually how lasting change is made.

This is not a reset, it's a reconnect

I want you to challenge the idea of "starting over." Because you haven't lost six months. You've lived them. You've learned from them. You've had wins you might not have even counted.

So rather than treating today as a do-over, what if you treated it as a check-in?

Pull out your vision, wherever it ended up, and simply ask yourself:

• Does this still feel true for me? Does it still reflect what I want?

• What's gone well in the past six months, even in small ways?

• Where have I drifted, and why?

• What's one thing I could do differently in the next six months?

You don't need to overhaul everything. One small, meaningful shift, consistently applied, will take you further than any grand restart.

The second half of the year belongs to you

Six months from now it will be January again. Another fresh start, another diary, another conversation about resolutions versus vision.

But between now and then? You have six whole months. Not to be perfect. Not to follow a rigid plan. But to make small, consistent choices that move you in the direction of the woman you're becoming.

Your vision hasn't expired. It's been waiting patiently.

What would it look like to pick it back up today?

If you'd like some support reconnecting with your health goals for the second half of the year, I'd love to chat. Book a chat with me here, it's a relaxed, no-pressure conversation and it might be exactly what this moment calls for.
